Paw It Forward Pet Pantry (In-person)

Ruff House Rescue (In-person and virtual)
Ruff House Rescue's (RHR) mission is to rescue homeless pets that suffer from abuse, neglect, and indifference. Many volunteer opportunities available.

Deeper Life Fellowship and Deliverance Center Church (In-person)
Food pantry volunteers needed. Responsibilities include opening boxes/packages and stocking shelves, lifting and moving boxes (Must be able to tolerate lifting 10 lbs), and preparing and administering packages for clients and patrons.
Alzheimer’s Association - Long Island Chapter (In-person and virtual)
Community Educators: volunteer public speakers who help raise awareness, provide education, and expand the reach of educational offerings in the community.
Community Representative: raise awareness of programs, provide basic disease information, and link consumers to services by serving as a liaison between the Alzheimer’s Association and local groups.
Community Volunteer Leaders: help recruit program volunteers, network, build relationships, plan & promote events, and evaluate community needs.
Early Stage Social Engagement Leaders: plan, implement, and assure positive experience during social engagement events/activities for people living with memory loss.
Faith Outreach Representatives: serve as liaisons between the Alzheimer’s Association and local faith groups and congregations by sharing information, free resources, and ways to join the cause.
Promotors: volunteer community members that raise awareness of programs, provide basic disease information, and link consumers to services. Traditionally known as connectors, educators, mentors, counselors, peer leaders, patient navigators, or health advocates and serve as liaisons between the Alzheimer’s Association and the Hispanic/Latino community.
Support Group Facilitator: create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia.

Food Rescue US - Nassau County (In-person)
Food Rescue US is a national nonprofit committed to reducing hunger and food waste. Food rescuers pick up excess fresh food from local businesses and deliver it to soup kitchens, shelters, and other organizations that serve community members facing food insecurity. Our volunteers in Nassau County are rescuing food every Monday through Friday.

Island Harvest is the largest hunger relief organization on Long Island. Whether you're organizing food collections or helping in our offices, we have opportunities for you to have fun, increase team building and make a difference in your community!

New Ground provides social work and education services to help families and veterans break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. Volunteers are needed!
Nassau County Veterans Service Agency (In-person)
Volunteer drivers are needed to transport veterans to/from the Northport VA, East Meadow Clinic, Valley Stream Clinic, and Hicksville Vet Center. Vehicle provided. Valid NYS driver’s license required.

EAC Network In-Home Respite Services (In-person)
Volunteers are needed to help family
caregivers in Nassau County. The
program is looking for volunteers to help
older adults who are at risk of falling or
may have dementia, in order to alleviate
stress to the families who are taking care
of them. No experience necessary, EAC
will provide training
Adopt a Destiny Inc. (In-person)
Adopt a Destiny Inc is looking for social
media coordinators to volunteer and help
promote fundraisers and provide
marketing for the organization. Adopt a
Destiny Inc helps to connect low income
students with financial assistance and
training for college.

Girls on the Run Long Island (In-person)
A physical activity-based program for
girls in grades 3-5 to provide tools to
help the grow physically and emotionally
over the course of the 10 week
curriculum. The program culminates
with the girls being prepared to run a 5K.
Long Island Cares (In-person)
Weekly volunteer age 18+ needed to
assist clients with food selection, stock
and organize shelves/fridge/freezer,
maintain cleanliness, accept and weigh
donations, bring in boxes during
deliveries. Volunteer must be able to lift
up to 30 lbs.
